Genesis of the Vision
The vision for Divine Heritage Children’s Centre was birthed in 2000. In a singular event, “I saw a naked child walking towards me on a bridge, surrounded by people who could help but did not. To my greatest surprise, everyone displayed a nonchalant attitude to the child’s plight. By the time I could lend a helping hand, the child had jumped into the river. This vision sparked a desire in my heart to rescue, nurture, and release children found in slums, villages, hospitals, trash heaps, and gutters. Children have the right to live and should be given the opportunity to do so in a conducive environment where they can receive holistic care—physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually—so that they can fulfill their destiny.” – Ebun Idowu, Founder DHCC
Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward… So are the children of one’s youth. – Psalm 127:3-4
